Succeeding at Succession

November 15, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Developing a plan for leadership succession is critical for any firm’s future and is a topic worth mastering. When we start thinking about the future of our organizations, succession planning is a big part of ensuring the long-term success of any firm.  Current principals and owners look ahead, recruiting employees who have the potential to take the firm into the next generation and providing them with professional development opportunities that will ensure their success. Whether you’re a current firm owner or are looking to become one, there are many factors to be aware of to ensure a seamless transition.

We are thrilled to have Michael Hall join us to talk about a perfect topic for close to the year-end and share his approach to ownership transfer planning and lots of good nuggets for performance review items.

Michael will dive into topics such as:

  • Why an ownership plan is essential to a firm’s long-term success
  • How a plan can be structured both with and without an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan)
  • Address how long an ownership transfer plan will take to implement
  • The objectives it accomplishes
  • The cultural implications of having a plan and typical failure points along the way.
  • Actionable frameworks to identify and groom your organization’s future leaders.

During this business practice webinar, we’re leaving room at the end for a 30-minute Q&A to explore any aspect of ownership transfer planning that you want to bring up to Michael, so if you want to stay logged in afterwards, feel free to do so!

This event is open to everyone, and all SDA members get to attend for free. Non-members enjoy a nominal cost to attend. We hope to see you there!

No-shows and cancelations after Nov. 8 will not be refunded. Registration closes at noon (Pacific) on Nov. 14.
