SAF Walking Tour: Hidden Spaces/Public Places

September 8, 2022 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Hey SDA members … this is our chapter’s second in-person event this year and we’re looking forward to getting some steps in with you. It’s a walking tour in downtown Seattle, led by the Seattle Architecture Foundation (SAF), and, drum roll, please … sponsored by Seattle chapter member Jim Gregson of Parker, Smith & Feek (thank you Jim!).

We’ll meet up with SAF at City Centre, then we’ll take off for their guided tour called “Hidden Spaces/Public Places: Private Property + Public Amenity = Additional Development Rights.” We’ll explore some of downtown’s hidden treasures, like public parks, plazas and open spaces. Many of these spaces are owned by private developers but are in fact places where you can enjoy beautiful landscapes and private art collections away from the hustle and bustle of city streets. The tour concludes at the Harbor Steps. There will  be some stairs along this tour, and you’ll want to wear comfortable shoes.

This one’s for you, SDA members, whether you are in the Seattle chapter or any other chapter, including members-at-large! Space is limited. Be sure to register to secure your spot. Registration closes at noon (PST) on September 7.
