Just when you thought you heard all you need to know about the workplace and Generation Z, along comes Robert Half (yes, that Robert Half—the one with the specialized staffing departments) with an interesting piece based on a survey of over 770 college and university student-members who are . . . Gen Z-ers.
The report offers survey results on such things as Gen Z’s top 3 priorities when seeking a full-time job, the amount of time they are willing to spend each day in a one-way commute, and the kind of work environment they prefer.
So what does the report conclude about Generation Z? As an employer, listen up and be prepared—Bruce Tulgan (founder of Rainmaker Thinking) sums it up this way: Gen Z-ers want to add value right away; invent new things; make existing things smarter, faster, better; do things better; identify problems nobody else has identified; and solve problems nobody else has solved.
