When Cancer Comes to Work
March 21, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Chances are, at some point, someone in your firm is going to deal with a serious illness, like cancer. And someone else in your firm is going to have to help that employee ease back in to work. That means reasonable accommodations need to be considered, and whatever else might be needed to help the returning employee. We’ve invited Anna Gottlieb to speak about the resources, including reasonable accommodations, that can help create a positive outcome for the returning employee and their employer. This session isn’t just geared toward the HR person in your firm; it’s useful info for all employees, from the Manager of Incoming Attitudes (aka the receptionist) to the managing principal.
Presenter: Anna Gottlieb is the Founder and Executive Director of Cancer Pathways (formerly Gilda’s Club Seattle). She has a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from Ohio State University. In her vast experience in public service, she has served as a Presidential Management Intern, a Management Analyst in the Office of Special Investigations, a Legislative Analyst with the U.S. Senate Criminal Justice Subcommittee, and a Program Analyst for the National Juvenile Justice Program. In 1995, Anna saw an article in People Magazine about the first Gilda’s Club opening in New York City. Inspired by the family focus and the humor that thrived within a cancer support community, she was convinced that wonderful program was needed in Seattle. Anna has spent the last 20 years pursuing that dream, and providing free programs for all those touched by cancer. Her organization, Cancer Pathways, has touched lives over 250,000 times helping men, women, children, and families across the state of Washington.
No-shows and cancellations after 12:00 PM (Pacific) on March 13 will not be refunded.
If you are outside of the greater Seattle, Bellevue, or Tacoma metropolitan area, we have a Virtual attendance option for you.
