Total Rewards: It’s more than money or benefits!
July 19, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Come prepared to engage—we’re going to talk about total rewards!
The national unemployment rate is below 4%. The Seattle area rate has been hovering around 3%. Couple this continued pressure with the changing face of the workforce (Millennials now, Generation Z soon, Baby Boomers transitioning out), and we have a tough labor market for employers. Companies will need to put their best foot forward to attract and retain quality people.
Our July 19 discussion will be devoted to total rewards. We’ll explore some of the current focus areas in compensation, potentially: the rise of incentive pay and the decline of merit adjustments, pay equity analysis, and the growing interest in benefits such as paid parental leave, unlimited vacation, and student loan payment programs.
Some of the questions that may be used to guide this discussion:
- What are the total rewards pain points at your organization?
- What new total rewards programs are your employees asking for?
- How change tolerant is your company culture? What happened the last time you rolled-out a new benefit or made a change to the pay program? How was it received?
- How would you rate your total rewards program right now? Competitive? It Rocks? Meh? What processes have you set-up to determine if employees (and candidates) are excited about your total rewards program?
- Have you stopped annual merit pay adjustments? Did you replace it with something else, and what? How was the response?
- What compensation related question do you most want to ask other members of SDA?
Come prepared to engage!
