Seattle chapter member EB Meyer was awarded a chapter scholarship to attend EDSymposium22 in Rapid City, SD.  For her Teach Back, she will focus on the breakfast keynote address from Simon Goodhead: Talent, Technology, Timing – what’s around the corner?

Most small to mid-sized firms do not have the opportunity to routinely hire a business consultant with expertise in the A/E/C industry such as the Coxe Group.  This EDSymposium session was an opportunity to hear industry trends, research and commentary.  In reflecting on this presentation, EB considered how the broad statements could be applied to the particulars of a firm.  As we prepare for the future, let’s talk about what resonates and how administrative professionals can excel in that environment.

EB Meyer is head of Administration at Weinstein A+U, an architectural services firm located in the historic Union Stables building, just north of Pike Place Market.  EB has a passion for the dynamic interplay between process and improvisation, seeking to keep the firm’s culture efficient and equitable as well as personable and meaningful.  Currently, she reports directly to Ed Weinstein and a governing group of Principals as well as serving a staff of 20-24 architects, designers, and support staff.  Working in a mid-sized firm for a decade, EB has worn “all the hats” from front desk to marketing to HR.  Participating in SDA Seattle, and attending EDSymposium, supports EB’s goal of becoming a skilled, perhaps indispensable, generalist administrator. EB served on the SDA Seattle Board of Directors in 2018 as a Director, and this year as Secretary.  With her spouse, she is raising two small children in a fixer-upper in Wallingford.
