Take the “Ugh!” out of your Design Review packet process
May 15, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Many cities are implementing Design Review as part of the entitlement process. For almost 25 years the City of Seattle has embraced this process, and as a result local A/E firms have established ways to increase the efficiency of the packet preparation. This time-, energy- and budget-consuming process is often misunderstood by clients, design staff, administrators, and marketing teams.
Tak Stewart and EB Meyer of Weinstein A+U will share key questions you can use to examine the efficacy of your packet preparation. In contrast to design teams fully creating Early Design Guidance and Design Review packets, we’ll look at potential cost savings through admin and marketing involvement. Critique your existing process with us and release the potential of cross-discipline packet preparation.
Tak Stewart is a designer at Weinstein A+U. He studiously follows Seattle’s real estate trends and their impacts on design, development, planning and policy. Fitting his passion for the intersection between design and economics, he holds Masters degrees in both Architecture and Real Estate Development from the University of Washington. He is an active member of Artsfund and the UW College of Built Environments’ Professional Advisory Council.
EB Meyer supports the work of Weinstein A+U in marketing, invoicing, and office administration. Over her 10 years in Seattle, she has observed with interest the changing face of the city. She is passionate about Seattle’s potential as a walkable, welcoming, economically and ecologically thriving city.
