Getting Ahead: Frameworks for getting promoted
June 16, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
This business practice webinar is part two of our four-part program (Stories They Never Told You About Business) examining the practical and tactical activities and approaches to running a business and getting ahead.*
SO … you want to be promoted. Do you feel stuck in a rut, not promoted for three or more years and see former peers leaping ahead? Perhaps you feel like you’re doing all the hard work but getting none of the reward? Sure, there’s a performance management system in place – do you know how to use it or work with it? Getting promoted can seem like a game of luck or a result of being in the right place at the right time when it actually isn’t. Hard work alone isn’t enough to get ahead, especially in this hybrid work world.
There is a certain kind of magic that you can create in your life whenever you step out of your comfort zone and promote yourself. That is NEVER easy – but it is something you can learn and get better at over time. The skill of boldly finding and/or creating a path and using tactics for getting promoted is what the incredible and talented Jess Hickey teaches in this session. Jess educates on the difference between coaching, mentoring and sponsoring within companies. Additionally, she provides guidance on asking for promotions and raises in a way that is digestible by most.
This presentation will be highly interactive. Bring your high focus and a thick notebook!
No-shows and cancelations after June 9 will not be refunded. Registration for this event closes at noon (PST) on June 15. This business practice webinar is free to all SDA members. Not a member of SDA yet? Click the Join button to learn more.
