EDConnect20 Overview: Why Project Administrators Might Rule the World
December 3, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
We’re pleased to have two chapter members share what they learned from attending Simon Goodhead’s session during EDConnect20. Everyone is welcome; be sure to register for this free, educational event!
The Admin Team at KPG has been working to redesign its role for several years now, so the description from the conference that admin staff can be ‘responsible for tectonic shifts in project performance and firm profitability’ resonated with us, and we are happy to share the incredibly useful information we gleaned from this session at SDA’s EDConnect20 event last month. Our slant is that the Admin Team is a firm’s secret superpower, so please join us to hear about the ways we can all be assured our roles are vital to our company structure!
Presenters:
Georgeanne Smith has been with KPG for almost eight years; her first stint was as a drafter on the Architecture team, and her current position is as the Department Manager for the amazing Administrative team at the firm. She loves the creative nature of the interdisciplinary work that KPG does, providing options for integrated project delivery that include architecture, aviation, civil engineering, construction services, landscape architecture, survey, stormwater, traffic, transportation, utility, and urban design.
She loves geeking out on processes to make work easier and more efficient and loves the SDA community for their creative ideas and input on all things A/E/C related. When she’s not processing contracts or preparing invoices, she’s thinking up yoga sequences to teach online to her coworkers or planning retreats for her staff to expand their knowledge.
Georgeanne is very grateful for the scholarship that SDA awarded her this year and hopes her love of communication and creative energy will help further the incredible work already being done in the Chapter. She loves working together as a team to find innovative solutions and is honored to be part of the award-winning team members that make up the Seattle Chapter.
Annalynn Franey recently celebrated her one-year anniversary with KPG. Prior to joining the firm, Annalynn worked in the real estate and multi-family industry in her home state of New Jersey. Her role was primarily focused around contracts, property management and general operations. As a newbie to the A/E/C industry, Annalynn has found a lot of value in being a member of the Seattle SDA chapter.
At KPG, Annalynn assists with processing contracts, monthly invoices, and various requests from our Project Managers. She enjoys working with the rest of the Project Admin team, coming up with new ideas, and celebrating the tasks that they accomplish together. On the weekends, Annalynn loves to hang out at Green Lake with her puppy Maverick, play Bananagrams at breweries with her friends and make chicken parmesan/homemade sauce with her boyfriend Ryan.
